Do you know the many health benefits of Kombucha?
Heck until I started researching it, I didn’t even know how to pronounce it, let alone know that it’s touted as an amazing health tonic. I had to look it up.
It seems there are a lot more health benefits of Kombucha than I realized.
It’s loaded with probiotics and enzymes that could help with pancreas function, energy, digestion, liver detoxification, mood, and lots more.
Kombucha is a fermented drink made from black tea and sugar. But don’t let that scare you, during fermentation the 90% of the sugar is consumed by the good bacteria and yeast.
My inspiration to get serious about learning more about and making Kombucha is my cousin Diane. She’s always working in her garden, canning and doing amazing urban homesteading stuff like this. I want to be like her when I grow up!
These pretty bottles are a batch of Diane’s own homemade strawberry version of Kombucha.
It’s just so dang purdy it made me want some!
I don’t claim to be an expert about or know all of the health benefits of Kombucha, so I went on a search on the inter-webs and found some really good stuff on the subject over on the Wellness Mama’s blog.
This article even explains how to make it at home. I’m gonna give it a try!

I’m excited to make some of my own Kombucha and I hope it inspires you to experiment with it too! If you decide to give it a go, I’d love to hear all about it.
Talk to you soon,
Awesome article!
You are right! Kombucha tea boosts metabolism.
A high metabolic rate helps in weight loss as it makes you feel more energized, and more likely to engage in regular physical exercise.
Thanks Matt!
The tricky part was figuring out how to find balance between business and My Happy Place in life.
Yes… for me, too!
I absolutely love Kombucha! I have never made my own, but I am interested in trying it out. It’s pricey at the store, but well worth the benefits 🙂
Kombucha!! Been hearing this for a while. Have to try this out.
I love kombucha! We’re super fortunate to have a microbrewer near our apartment. Best of all they allow you to bring your own bottles for a discount. Even without the convenience I don’t think I’d be inspired to make my own, though. I’m too busy baking vegan chocolate cake! Lol.
