What makes someone a homesteader?
You don’t have to live off-grid in a log cabin on 20 acres. Being a Homesteader is a state of mind. It gets down deep in your heart no matter where you live, small town, big city, house with a yard or an apartment. If you dream of growing food to feed your family then learning to preserve it, eating fresh eggs from your own chickens or cooking wholesome food from scratch. If you want to learn to use herbs and natural remedies to take more control and better care of your family’s health then you my friend have the ❤️ of a homesteader. This blog is all about encouraging you to start wherever you are in whatever way you can.

Hi, I’m Celene Harrelson… self proclaimed Backyard Homesteader.
I live a very happy life in balance as a wife, mom, grandma and lover of all things pertaining to home and family, self-reliance and living a more simple natural lifestyle.I’m a Crispy Mama (older, kinda Crunchy but not quite.) I’m not willing to give up my hair products, would NEVER ever eat my own placenta and the only way you would catch me using a family cloth is in the zombie apocalypse! I’m a Home Herbalist constantly learning more about herbs for health and making herbal medicine. I love essential oils, making my own natural remedies, cooking, canning and fermenting the food I grow in my garden. Oh… and I am crazy about my backyard chickens and RVing!
God has blessed and enabled me to be a successful blogger and coach, teaching others to blog about their passions. The tricky part was figuring out how to find a happy balance between business and the homestead. With His help, I’ve been able to do just that and you can too!
